The Wedding of Andrew & Beverley at Whitley Hall Hotel, Sheffield

Table of Contents

Every UK wedding venue has its own identity and character, and Whitley Hall Hotel in north Sheffield stands out with a heap of historic charisma and countryside views. This makes it perfect setting up a memorable wedding ceremony and party.

On the outskirts of Sheffield in Grenoside, we arrived off the Stocksbridge Bypass to a hotel surrounded by beautiful gardens and South Yorkshire countryside. Any couple would be stunned by the venue’s backdrop.

We had the pleasure of providing wedding photo booth hire for Andrew and Beverley’s wedding party, and from the moment we unloaded the van to the moment we printed the last photo, it was easily one of the most enjoyable weddings we’ve worked at this year.

Our arrival at Whitley Hall Hotel

We pulled up at Whitley Hall at around 5.30pm, sparing ourselves about 1 hour and 30 minutes before Andrew and Beverley’s 7pm start time.

Even though we arrived while it was a little dark, the venue stood out as soon as we approached it. The classic northern British stone exterior, combined with the peaceful grounds and traditional architecture during spring, creates a warm impressive atmosphere for a top UK wedding celebration.

The staff welcomed us in and were organised, as they have plenty of weddings with magic mirror hire, explaining where we should go to set up. We had already received clear instructions on where to unload the van and access the wedding reception area, which made the setup process go smoothly.

At weddings and the set up of the best wedding entertainment ideas, timing is everything, especially when including features like a magic mirror photo booth, so this level of coordination helped us a lot.

Perfect Spot for the Booth Near the Bar

The venue team helped us choose an ideal spot for selfie mirror hire, which was next to the bar in the main room. We always try to secure a spot in the middle of the action, without being in the way of other activities during the evening.

Whitley Hall offered the ideal amount of space, making it easy to position the booth where guests could access and take big group pictures, while still moving freely between the dance floor, dining area, and bar.

With the location confirmed, we set up the magic mirror along with our professional lighting, dye-sublimation printer, and a fresh set of wedding props, which make many see it as the ideal alternative to hiring a wedding photographer. The venue’s classic interior went well with the booth set up.

Final Checks Before Picture Taking

Before allowing guests to come and use the booth, we ran through our usual checks—testing the camera, adjusting the level of the flash, and ensuring the 6×4-inch prints were coming out perfectly.

We always capitalise on these quieter moments as they allow us to fine-tune our setup so that once guests come over, the experience runs seamlessly for them and the bride and groom get their money’s worth.

Guests Let Loose After the Formalities

As the evening progressed, guests quickly made their way to snap pics on the booth. It got a little hectic after a few had some drinks, but this is par for the course for a Yorkshire wedding reception.

From classy couple shots to fun group photos with props and “I came for the food” wedding signs, the booth became a real focal point of the night. Many of Andrew and Beverley’s guests told us how much they enjoyed it, even taking a few of our business cards for events they have coming up.

We stayed on hand throughout the party, helping guests with oversized glasses, cowboy hats, and wigs, guiding them through how to pose to make sure everyone left with a print they loved.

After the first dance, the energy really picked up, and the booth stayed busy non-stop right through until it started to wind down when we started packing up at 10 pm.
